On the Appropriations Committee, Jeff is fighting to ensure the tax relief passed in Austin makes a real difference in your budget while holding local governments accountable for rate increases, reforming the appraisal process, and eliminating the largest portion of our property tax system. On the Natural Resources and Local & Consent Calendars committees, Jeff works to strengthen local economies and protect our quality of life.
 

A successful insurance broker for over two decades, Jeff has the expertise to reform the state's broken windstorm system and rein in the spiraling insurance premiums that are making it harder for families to get by. He is a leading voice on the policy needed to keep Texas the energy capital of the world, which helps keep gas and electricity costs down for everyone.
 

Representative Barry is dedicated to supporting working families across Texas, empowering local businesses, and making sure state policies work for every community. He was named the first-ever Behavioral Health Champion by the Texas Association of Behavioral Health Systems and received the Eagle Award from the Texas Association of Builders & Contractors for his commitment to building a stronger Texas.

Prior to his time in the legislature, Jeff served stateside in the U.S. Navy during Operation Desert Storm. He was also on the Pearland ISD Board of Trustees for six years and the Pearland City Council, where he was a strong advocate for taxpayers.
